Live Kothu Roti Station

Live kothu roti, chopped to order.

The live kothu griddle is Saku's Kitchen signature — godamba roti, egg, onion, tomato and your choice of chicken or mutton, hand-chopped on a hot iron in front of your guests. It's part dinner, part performance, and the dish people talk about long after the event is over.

What's a kothu roti station?

Two cleavers, one screaming-hot griddle, and Chef Saku working roti, egg, curry and aromatics into one of the most beloved dishes in Tamil and Sri Lankan cuisine. It serves dozens of plates an hour and turns a buffet into a show.

Pairs with the full menu

Most clients book the kothu station alongside our broader catering menu — curries, short-eats, fries and beverages. It works as a main course, a late-night addition for receptions, or a festival headline.

Equipment and staffing included

We bring the griddle, the prep, the ingredients and the kitchen team. You provide the power and the space; we handle the rest.

Frequently asked

What space do you need for a live station?

A 6–8 ft prep area outdoors or in a well-ventilated indoor space, plus access to a standard outlet. We'll walk through your venue with you in advance.

How many guests can the station serve?

A single griddle comfortably serves 100–150 guests across the event window. For larger events we run two griddles in parallel.

Can you make it vegetarian?

Yes — egg kothu, vegetable kothu and paneer kothu are all on offer. Vegan variations are available on request.
